Working

This trip is not all fun and games. There is serious work to be done! We learned from COMA that we will be given three specific assignments from them (in addition to several workshops from other designers while we’re here).

Our first assignment is to keep a diary, a report of our trip. It can be any format, as long as we stick with a single one. Some examples they gave were a photo of the day, twitter message of the day, or a 30 second film. This project will last the duration of our trip.

Our second assignment is to find an aspect of the city that only a visitor to the city — someone with fresh eyes — would be able to notice. I’m not sure what the final outcome of this project is expected to be or what my personal outcome will be, but it gives a whole new dimension to understanding this city.

Our third project from them is about the relationship of trust and design. That’s all we know so far.

WiFi

The men’s apartment didn’t have steady wifi until just right now. They gave us each a USB dongle to get our individual laptops on the net.

When I get some time (probably later tonight) I’ll post up some full updates about yesterday and the day before.

LL Bean Signature Work Boots

Thanks to my parents for getting me these awesome boots. I’m sure they’ll keep my feet nice and toasty!

The Hill-side Flannel Twill Scarf

So this is what was in the package from Hickoree’s. My Tia got it for me to use during my trip to Amsterdam. So I can, you know, keep warm.

Thanks, Tia!
